Aansoo Lake is a high altitude lake in Kaghan valley (height 4245 meters).
The name "Ansoo" comes from its tear-like shape meaning teardrop.
The lake is near Malka Parbat Mountain and can be reached by two different routes.
The shorter one is via Lake Saif-ul Malook (a 4 hours track). The second starts from village Mahandri, which is 40 km south to Naran. This trek takes at least three days of 12 hour trekking to reach Ansoo Lake.
There is no place to stay at Ansoo Lake. Some people may camp on the top of extremely cold and windy mountains but it is very risky and even the locals do not agree to recommend this.
