In Lahore, on 23rd March1940 Pakistan Muslim League under leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah passed the Pakistan Resolution demanding the creation of Pakistan.
Minar-e-Pakistan is constructed on this site i.e. Iqbal park & is a tall monumental minaret.
Minar base has floral inscriptions of white marble commemorative plaques. The inscriptions include the text of Lahore Resolution, Delhi Resolution. Also inscribed is Quranic verses, 99 attributes of God, National Anthem of Pakistan, excerpts from the speeches of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as well as few couplets of Allama Iqbal.
The monument attracts visitors from all over Pakistan, as well as the inhabitants of the Lahore. The large public space around the monument is commonly used for political and public meetings, whereas Iqbal Park area is popular among kite-flyers.
