In 1950, National Museum was established in Karachi on the premises of Frere Hall.
Later, in 1970, it was relocated to its present location in Burns Garden Dr. Zia Uddin Road.
The Museum has collection of cultural history of Pakistan. It has 11 galleries including the exquisite “Quran Gallery”.
There are some selected masterpieces of Indus & Gandhara Civilization along with Islamic Art, Miniature Paintings, Ancient Coins, Manuscripts documenting Pakistan's Political History.
The Ethnological Gallery displays life size statues of different ethnicities living in the four provinces of Pakistan.
