Naltar Valley, Gilgit

Naltar is an alpine plateau 40 km from Gilgit and is accessible by jeeps.

The two villages of Naltar Valley i.e. Naltar Bala and Naltar Pine are at a distance of 34 kilometers and 40 kilometers respectively from Gilgit city. Naltar Lake (Bashkiri Lake) is at a distance of 32 kilometers from Naltar Bala.
Naltar is famous for its magnificent mountain scenery. In highlands, one may get a glimpse of Ibex, Markhor, Ram Chikor etc.
Trekking expeditions use Naltar Pass (4600 m) for treks that lead in different valleys
In winter ski competitions are held here under the supervision of Pakistan Air Force.
