Subject : One day trip to Wali Tangi. My friends at Quetta are specialists in planning and cancelling trips and when I left my working district for Quetta last Saturday I had no trip but only a meeting and presentation at head office on my mind. So when a friend called me in the evening and asked me to join them for a cup of tea and to finalize next day's trip, I was pleasantly surprised. After a long discussion and many trip cancelling(almost) moments later, we had finally a plan, we were going to Wali Tangi. Information about the place could be seen in Balochistan section of this site. It was a fun filled trip which had all, off roading and getting the jeep stuck in soft gravel of the stream, a long walk and short hike to dam and beyond and usual targeting a friend for teasing. Details coming later. Here is the teaser pic.

In the past one had to get passes from garrison headquarter, Quetta cantonment but this season passes had been available at the entrance gate. We also had plan B to go to Shaban if we were denied passes at entrance gate which often happens as army looks after the dam and because of security concerns passes are refused by army personnel . We left 9:00 am and reached the gate at 9:30 which was fairly early and very few people were there. Got the passes easily @ Rs 100 per person and Rs 100 for the vehicle. It is a short ride of couple of kms on a fairly maintained dirt track and then there is a short walk to the dam.

It is an interesting walk to the dam through the stream, tiring but not too tough and definitely worth it. Dam
